A look back at the 2016 Prepaid24 Nelson Mandela Legacy Cup
What a memorable evening we had last week Thursday at PPC Newlands!
With a beautiful Cape Town evening, a vibrant crowd, and some of South Africa’s top athletes putting on a fantastic show in their battle for national bragging rights, one could not have asked for anything better.
It was an amazing evening and one that Prepaid24 was honoured to have been a part of.
Despite a valiant fight by the Boks, they were unsuccessful in their effort to chase down an astronomical target of 253. The Proteas ended as victors and took the evening’s spoils home.
Some of the game’s star performers were Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir for the Proteas, with the Springbok talismans, Damian de Allende and Sergeal Petersen, also putting in great performances with the bat and in the field respectively.
Ex-Springbok captain and Prepaid24 Head of Business Development, Jean de Villiers, also took part in the contest and got his fair share of chirping in from behind the stumps, as the former inside-center sported the wicket keeping gloves for the Boks.
This joyous evening, during which our national sporting heroes came together and shone a ray of hope on a country in need of it, greatly resonates with Prepaid24 as a company. Since our founding in 2009, we have made it our mission to provide South Africans with expert advice and world-class service in the field of prepaid electricity. We believe that when we value one another and work together, great things can be achieved.
The truth is that there is indeed a lot of hope for South Africa; the Nelson Mandela Legacy Cup brought to you by Prepaid24 proved it.
